A launch ad for ABC Experia — North Malabar's largest experience centre for premier brands and world-class products. The film showcases the showroom's exquisite collections and dedicated display centres for Jaquar, Simpolo, Artize, Nexion and Essco, capturing the scale and premium feel of the space ahead of its opening.
The Challenge
The shoot hit an unexpected crew block on the day: the department heads and most of the team were pulled into a company meeting, leaving only me, my cameraman and two unskilled hands to pull off a launch film on a fixed deadline. Every role that would normally be spread across a crew — direction, costume, lighting, production control, location management — landed on one person, with no room to push the date.
Approach
I took on every department myself — directing and editing while also handling costume, lighting, production control and location management — and used the cameraman and the two available hands where they could contribute most. Prioritising ruthlessly, I focused the limited manpower on getting clean, complete coverage of the space and its brand displays, keeping the shoot organised enough that nothing essential was missed despite the skeleton crew.
Outcome
The film was completed on schedule and delivered in time for the showroom launch — fully covered and polished, with every planned shot captured despite the crew shortage. A proof that tight problem-solving and hands-on control can carry a production through when the plan falls apart.
